Hand blended and authentic Mulling Spices are a delicious treat during the brisk Autumn and Winter days. Add a bit of spice and flavor to your favorite beverages by gently warming the spices along with apple cider, wine, brandy or even rum.

Here are some ways to use your Mulling Spices:

Mulling spices can be used to make fragrant mulled wine or cider. An aromatic blend of warm spices, including cinnamon, allspice, whole cloves and lemon and orange zest, mulling spices should be placed in a large tea infuser or in a small piece of cheesecloth.

Mulled Wine
In a saucepan, gently simmer 1 quart red wine, 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar (to taste) and 2 Tbs. mulling spices for up to 20 minutes. Remove the spices and serve the wine hot in mugs garnished with a cinnamon stick, or chill and serve over ice as a cooler.

Mulled Cider
In a saucepan, gently simmer 1 quart apple cider and 2 Tbs. mulling spices for up to 20 minutes. Remove the spices and serve the cider hot in mugs garnished with a cinnamon stick, or chill and serve over ice as a cooler. The cider is excellent with a jigger of rum or brandy added per cup.
