Fanciful Jacket

This light-weight hand-crushed iridescent jacket has a 100% dupioni silk bias cut front band and a special decorative element surrounding the hand formed silk roses covering the hidden hook and eye closure. 

DETAILS

Three reversed color floating inserts create a feminine handkerchief hemline to this softly fitted jacket. The tops of the reverse-colored inserts are decorated with a gently formed flower in subtly different color. The decorations at the closure change with each colorway. Each one is hand selected by the designer to add a romantic detail while staying within the palette. 

FABRIC

This cross-dyed rayon fabric is hand-crushed in our studio to bring out the subtle color changes and add flexibility and stretch to the garment. The front band is real Dupioni Silk. The test of real dupioni is the subtle variation in the slubs, and waving random thick and thin threads. The silkworms who spin dupioni silk threads into their cocoons sometimes leave a bit of their lunch of mulberry leaves in their cocoon. Sometimes they get a bit tangled up and make lumps or go randomly fast or slow in their spinning. Whoops! (Smile). Twist it up to travel.

SILHOUETTE and SIZING

The Jacket is 30 inches long plus the floats, with 21 inch high-wrist sleeves plus an additional float. 

Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. It is also available in a Plus size which is 33 inches long.

Want to cover your arms but not feel matronly or too hot? Need a little protection from air conditioning in a fancy restaurant? HOW TO TURN A PHOTO OF YOURSELF INTO A PAINTING.

For a quick and dirty way to a Renoir style painting, input the photo into Photoshop and use the filters. Try the Oil Paint effects like Paint Daubs or Palette Knife. Press Sketch then Water Paper for a watercolor effect. 

CARE: 

Twist it and lay it around the outside of your suitcase to travel. Don't fold. Turn it inside out and put it in a lingerie bag before putting it in the washer and dryer.
