Copperella Tunic
$ 249.00
Do you have gorgeous copper toned skin and deep brown or black eyes? Are you a lover of the classic richness of brown and black together? Do you have a special dinner or celebration coming up and want to look gorgeous and compliment-worthy, but also feel free, comfortable and subtly artistic?
The center panel of the Copperella Fortuni Tunic has a rare, subtle and complex embroidery in nine colors of satin thread on a rich reflective copper satin with a subtle sheen. Embroidered 'bleeding heart' flowers appear to dangle in an artistic dance on the copper-colored fabric. The bottom has a beautiful, complex, free form edge created with special embroidery around elaborate cutouts.
The draping neckline is a delicate brown mesh with copper metallic dots. Between the draping collar and the central embroidered panel is an additional cut-out floating oversized brown orchid. The high-fashion silhouette is sculptural and deliberately oversized, however the crisp black Fortuni mini pleat fabric in the main body will move with you. It is lovingly sewn by studio artists in Maryland.
DETAILS
The embroidered fabric in the center panel comes from the Lee Andersen studio and is very rare. Even Lee cannot make it again as the specialty embroidery company who made it exclusively for her, disappeared during Covid. The combination of the coppery sheen in the center, the subtle oversized orchid at the neck and the draping metallic mesh at the neck leads the eye in a flattering line up to the face. This subtle effect is reinforced by the black wavy external seams outlining the diagonals at the shoulder line. These petal waves appear again at the wrist of the ¾ length sleeves and the playful hem.
FABRIC
The main fabric is a black lightweight crisp breathable 100% rayon that has been permanently pleated in a machine like a waffle iron. It stretches and folds and travels with ease. It won't crush. Pull it out of your suitcase, give it a quick shake, throw it over your head, and off you go to your fancy event.
SILHOUETTE and SIZING
This raglan sleeve, one size garment, has a high fashion oversize look on a small person. It is as beautiful on a generous Rubenesque figure.
The sleeves are 3/4 length with wavy petal edges to show off delicate wrists and bold copper, gold and jet bracelets.
WHERE TO WEAR IT
Late home and going out to dinner in 10 minutes? Throw the Copperella Fortuni Tunic over the black tank and black/black leggings you wore during the day. Add a splash of bright copper lip color, dramatic black eyeliner and a swipe of black mascara. If your event is a celebrity-filled event at an Art Gallery, change into narrow black satin cigarette pants for a dramatic dressy silhouette with shiny brown alligator pumps. Alternatively, if comfort is your go-to-mode, layer it over a romantic feminine Pompeii Dress in black or brown and wear it with your Birkenstocks with your toes poking out!
CARE:
Turn it inside out and put it in a lingerie bag before putting it in the washer and dryer.
